Taking place for the first time in North America, this spring Montréal will host one of the world’s biggest mobility events, proudly organized by C2. The Movin’On world summit will bring together key decision-makers from companies, institutions and government bodies working in the field of sustainable mobility. We need volunteers to help make this major event a success, and to help shape the future.

Participating in Movin’On 2017 means:

  • Being surrounded by key players in the field of sustainability.
  • Being an integral part of an innovative event and contributing to its national and international standing.
  • Forming special relationships with other volunteers, the C2 team and conference participants.
  • Obtaining exclusive training offered by professionals on the C2 team.

THE ESSENTIALS

All applicants must be:

  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Available throughout the event, June 13-15, 2017
  • Present at the two training sessions, the evening of June 7, and June 12 all day

Training specific to each volunteer position will also be given.

STEWARDS
ROLE
  • Guide participants or artists through their C2 Montréal experience
  • Respect their schedules
  • Act as an onsite personal resource
PROFILE
  • Unquestionable tact
  • Event or production experience is a plus
  • Initiative, adaptability and interpersonal skills
  • Undergraduate university degree
SALES AGENTS
ROLE
  • Collect registrations for C2 Montréal 2018
  • Participate in the promotional effort for C2 Montréal 2018
  • Assist with the reception of groups at private functions
PROFILE
  • Undergraduate degree in a field related to commerce or customer service (e.g. hospitality)
  • Unparalleled interpersonal skills
  • Experience in sales or customer service, preferably in an event context

Required availability: Two two-hour meetings (dates to be determined)

PRESS OFFICERS
ROLE
  • Welcome journalists
  • Coordinate press room activities
  • Assist with interviews
PROFILE
  • Great organizational abilities and comfortable working under pressure
  • Experience in local and/or international media relations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of protocol is a plus
collaborative experiences hosts
ROLE
  • Welcome participants at experimentation activities (workshops, labs, masterclasses etc.)
  • Accompany participants during the setup and breakdown of their activities
  • Ensure that experimentation spaces are welcoming
  • Take proper care of equipment
  • Support professional facilitators as needed
PROFILE
  • Undergraduate degree in the field of commerce or creativity
  • Organized and resourceful
  • Proactive disposition and initiative taker
  • Excellent French and English communication skills
  • Facilitation, and group facilitation, experience is an asset
  • Experience in customer service is a plus
PARTNER HOSTS
ROLE
  • Welcome partners
  • Respond to all unforeseen needs of partners (logistical, catering, programming, etc.)
  • Contribute to the smooth running of partners’ private functions
  • Assist partner representatives during activities/events and answer their questions about the site
PROFILE
  • Resourceful and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Restaurant experience is a plus
WAIT STAFF
ROLE
  • Prepare snacks and serve them
  • Direct participants and inform them about the different services offered
  • Manage lineups to optimize participants’ experience
  • Help manage the supply and distribution of beverages

SQUAD
ROLE
  • Intervenes in a flash in all unforeseen situations

  • Post-graduate university degree in business
  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn
  • Analytical mind with the ability to isolate the salient points in a conversation
  • Irreproachable pen(wo)manship in at least one of the two official languages, particularly English
  • Excellent spoken language skills, bilingual
  • Deep understanding of the business world and a strong interest in the themes at C2 Montréal 2017
  • Attention to detail
  • Journalistic experience is a plus

Required availability: Full availability during the event and a few hours the following week for follow-up writing.
